Indications:
Antibiotic; Used in infections of the respiratory tract (bronchitis & pneumonia), kidney, skin, soft tissue, UTI, and in urethral and cervical gonorrhoea
Dosage:
Adult – 200 to 400 mg daily in divided doses
Mechanism of Action:
Fluoroquinolone; inhibits the supercoiling activity of bacterial DNA gyrase, halting DNA replication
Side Effects:
Nausea, vomiting, mild diarrhoea; headache, dizziness
