Indications:
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID); Used in Fever and pain management, dysmenorrhea, arthritis
Dosage:
Adult – 400 to 1800 mg daily in divided doses
Paediatric – 40 mg/kg or 2400 mg/day, whichever is less
Mechanism of Action:
non-selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, an enzyme involved in prostaglandin synthesis
Side Effects:
Haemorrhage, vomiting, anaemia, decreased haemoglobin, eosinophilia, and hypertension
