Indications:
Antihistamine; Indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis
Dosage:
Adult – 5 to 10 mg daily in divided doses
Paediatric – 2.5 to 5 mg daily in divided doses
Mechanism of Action:
inverse agonist that decreases activity at histamine H1 receptors. This in turn prevents the release of other allergy chemicals and increased blood supply to the area, and provides relief
Side Effects:
Drowsiness, fatigue, and nasopharyngitis
