Indications:
Antibiotic; Used in treating urinary tract infections, Otitis media, Pharyngitis, Bronchitis and uncomplicated Gonorrhoea
Dosage:
Adult – 200 to 400 mg (maximum) daily in divided doses
Paediatric – 8 mg/kg/day maximum
Mechanism of Action:
Bactericidal agent that acts by the inhibition of bacterial cell-wall synthesis
Side Effects:
Diarrhoea; Loose or frequent stools
