Indications:
Calcium channel blocker; Used to treat Angina, Coronary Artery Disease and Hypertension
Dosage:
Adult – 2.5 to 10 mg (maximum) daily in divided doses
Paediatric – 2.5 to 5 mg (maximum) daily in divided doses
Mechanism of Action:
Inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle leading to Coronary & peripheral vasodilatation
Side Effects:
Swelling of ankles or feet; Difficulty in breathing; Dizziness
