Indications:
Antibacterial; Used in respiratory tract, urinary and soft tissue infections
Dosage:
Adult – 150 to 300 mg daily in divided doses
Mechanism of Action:
Macrolide; binds to the subunit 50S of the bacterial ribosome, and thus inhibits the translocation of peptides. This inhibits bacteria from growing
Side Effects:
Gastric Irritation, Allergic reactions, Hepatotoxic
