Indications:
Antihistamine; Used to treat sneezing, runny nose, itching, red or watery eyes, and other symptoms of seasonal allergies (hay fever)
Dosage:
Adult – 4 to 32 mg daily in divided doses
Paediatric – 4 to 16 to mg daily in divided doses
Mechanism of Action:
Compete with histamine for receptor sites; hence reduce allergic reaction
Side Effects:
Sedation, sleepiness (often transient), dizziness, disturbed coordination
